Apple Maps Announces App Updates Featuring Narcity Curated Guides
With the iOS15 update, Apple Maps provides users with augmented experiences for three Canadian cities. Through 3D views, road markings, an updated transit map and immersive walking directions in augmented reality, Apple users can now navigate through Vancouver, Toronto and Montreal like no other way before.
While this new feature enables users to have unprecedented details of neighbourhoods, commercial districts and waterfront areas, it also provides users with curated city guides, created by trusted publishers, including Narcity and Lonely Planet. Curated guides are automatically updated when new places are added, so users always have the latest recommendations on their devices.
“We are excited to be part of this initiative with Apple Maps and have seen some great responses from our maps over the last year”, said the Director of Social Publishing and Brand Communications at Narcity, Maxmillien Rosenberg. “As we head into spring and summer, we are working to develop even more maps to help people discover cities across Canada.”
Other interesting updates that can be found on Apple Maps are Shared ETAs that users can share with friends or loved ones with a simple click of a button or a Siri command. Get detailed indoor maps of malls, airports, and even audio cycling directions to prevent distractions while pedalling around a city.
